compenswiss is an independent public law institution with its own legal personality established by the Confederation on 1 January 2019 to administer the OASI, InvI and LEC (AHV/AVS, IV/AI, EO/APG) social security funds. It is governed by the Federal Act on the Institution for the Administration of the Swiss Federal Social Security Funds AHV, IV and EO (Social Security Funds Act: RS 830.2) and is registered with the commercial register of Geneva, where it has its seat.
As a public law institution, compenswiss is part of the decentralized federal administration under the Government and Administration Organization Act (GAOA; RS 172.010) and the Government and Administration Organization Ordinance (RS 172.010.1).
